Role Description
The Assistant Public Defender (I/II/III) is a full-time, on-site position located in Augusta, Georgia. We also provide representation in neighoring Burke County, Georgia. In this role, the Assistant Public Defender will provide legal representation to clients in criminal cases, including advocating for clients in court, conducting legal research, preparing legal documentation, and negotiating with prosecuting authorities. Additional responsibilities include investigating cases, interviewing clients and witnesses, preparing defense strategies, and ensuring clients’ rights are upheld. The position requires adherence to ethical and professional responsibilities while working to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
