The Assistant Picture Framing Estimator will be responsible for quoting and pricing all aspects of custom framing projects by analyzing labor, material and time requirements to determine overall project cost. This role plays a key part in improving profitability through accurate and strategic estimating. It requires developing a deep understanding of framing methods, materials, and production workflows across departments. The Assistant Picture Framing Estimator will work in tandem with production team members and sales staff to meet the highest standards in the industry and uphold the reputation of the Colorchrome brand.
Primary duties/responsibilities:
· Interpret and analyze client quote requests for framing
· Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid proposals using Excel for the Sales Team
· Calculate material yields, material costs and labor estimates to generate accurate and competitive quotes, positioning Colorchrome to win jobs while being mindful of company margin and profitability targets
· Review and approve change orders related to quotes
· Specify framing materials, recommend cost-effective alternatives, and advise on project construction methods
· Write up Framing Work Orders using Specialty Soft for key accounts
· Manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines effectively
· Collaborate with sales, production, and purchasing teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex framing challenges
· Seek opportunities to improve pricing competitiveness and process efficiency
· Participate in vendor communications and pricing negotiations for specialty materials
· Use critical thinking to make decisions and problem solve
Desired Skills & Background
· Understanding of custom framing fabrication and knowledge of printing and wood working preferred
· Strong spatial skills with the ability to interpret detailed framing specifications
· Excellent math skills, including operations with whole numbers & fractions
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions
· Ability to work well under pressure and support multiple Account Managers
· Willingness to learn industry-specific materials & techniques
· Effective communication skills and collaborative problem-solving abilities
· Highly analytical, detail oriented & organized
Job Type: Full-time, on-site in Norcross, Georgia
Salary: $50,000 – $55,000 commensurate with experience
