Appliance Factory Mattress Kingdom is the 24th largest appliance company and we are growing with 24 stores in multiple states. We believe in providing the world’s best customer service experience in Appliances & Mattresses and are seeking a Skilled, Hands-On, HR Director to lead our retail team!

• Distressed goods are about 30%-40% of our sales. The rest is new in box product.

• We are looking for individuals that come into the company and want to be part of the company’s growth & expansion.

Responsibilities:

• Reports to CEO and Board of Directors.

• Create and implement employee relations policies to help increase employees’ job satisfaction at all retail stores and corporate offices

• Work with CEO to mold leaders and fill key leadership positions as needed.

• Works with Retail and B2B leadership on the planning of staffing needs. Proactively assists to fill positions

• Reviews and makes recommendations for improvement of company policies, procedures, and practices

• Maintains knowledge of industry trends, employment legislation and compliance requirements

• Directs annual reviews, preparation and administration of company wage and salary program

• Consults with legal counsel as appropriate regarding personnel, compliance, and policy maters

• Leads team to work directly with department managers to assist with personnel matters

• Train team leaders on performance evaluation techniques and best practices

• Evaluate and implement an orientation procedure for onboarding new hires and training them to meet the needs of the company

• Implement high-performance goals and programs to ensure quality product knowledge and service at all of our retail locations

• Lead your team to effectively communicate with employees about compensation, benefits, and other facets of their employment

• Works with Retail and corporate leadership to establish and maintain a learning and development program for retail employees

• Leadership development for our managers; driving home the importance of their individual development plan

• HR staff development and assessment

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required

• Must have experience working in human resources in retail

• 8 + years’ experience in human resources showing progressive growth in responsibilities

• Two (2) years’ experience in a retail environment with multiple locations (5+) preferred; alternatively work at a large corporate HR department at a director or above level.

• Strong understanding of the interviewing process, benefits administration, payroll, and other HR functions

• PHR, SHRM certification preferred

• Excellent communication, leadership, and planning skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
