Social Media & Content Specialsit Full Time NEW

Puffer Malarkey Collective is the restaurant group behind some of San Diego’s most iconic dining experiences – Animae, Le Coq, Herb & Sea, Herb & Wood, and Herb & Ranch. We’re looking for a sharp, creative Social Media & Content Specialist to bring our brands to life with content that’s intentional and compelling.

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of content creation, community building, and brand storytelling. You’ll own the social presence across all five restaurants, collaborate with our culinary teams and external creatives, and report performance to senior leadership – all while balancing strategic thinking with sharp instincts, and data with creativity. This is an in-person, part-time role with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position within 1–2 months.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly content calendar and publishing schedule across all five restaurant accounts, maintaining consistent posting cadences and alignment with the marketing calendar
• Develop on-brand copy and produce content across formats – photography, video, reels, and stories – for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
• Plan and lead content shoots in coordination with culinary and front-of-house teams
• Ideate and pitch social-first activations to drive engagement and grow organic audience
• Manage day-to-day community engagement across all platforms: responding to DMs and comments, reposting UGC, and moderating
• Identify and manage influencer partnerships, handling outreach, vetting, and delivery tracking
• Monitor content performance metrics to understand effectiveness of strategy and creative, developing quarterly reports, strategy recommendations, and content best practices per platform
• Support offsite events and activations with on-site content coverage
• Stay current on platform trends, algorithm changes, and best practices with proactive recommendations

Qualifications

• 2+ years of social media experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or a consumer lifestyle brand
• Proven ability to develop and edit creative social assets for Instagram and TikTok
• Creative strategic thinker who can work independently and collaborate across teams
• Strong photography and videography skills; proficient in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Capcut
• Ability to read performance data and translate it into clear, actionable strategy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
• Experience with Later or similar scheduling tools and Meta Business Suite
• A genuine passion for storytelling, food, and hospitality
• Ability to travel within San Diego and Los Angeles as needed
