Project Control Specialist Full Time NEW

Our client is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support its Project Management Office (PMO) in delivering large-scale capital programs. This role focuses on project scheduling, cost control, and performance reporting, ensuring effective oversight of project budgets, timelines, and delivery performance.

Duration: 12 months

Location: New York City

Responsibilities

• Perform project controls functions including scheduling, cost control, and performance monitoring
• Support PMO initiatives and provide project control services across multiple programs
• Analyze data from integrated project control and reporting systems to identify trends and risks
• Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6
• Conduct cost and schedule variance analysis and identify project delivery concerns
• Prepare and present project control reports, dashboards, and executive summaries
• Provide milestone tracking and look-ahead reporting
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to review scope, schedule, and cost performance
• Recommend improvements to project control processes, tools, and reporting systems
• Support development and maintenance of capital program dashboards
• Assist in onboarding and training of new team members

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or cost management
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Primavera P6
• Strong knowledge of: Project scheduling and cost control methodologies, Work breakdown structures (WBS)
• Performance reporting and variance analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (or PMP certification with technical background)

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting large-scale capital or infrastructure programs
• Familiarity with capital planning, cost-benefit analysis, and risk management frameworks
• Experience working within PMO environments
