ROLE OVERVIEW:

Reports to: Product Development Manager and Production Manager

The Development/Production Assistant will support the LESET team through all phases of the product development and production process – from initial design concept through final production – ensuring timelines, sample accuracy, and smooth communication across teams and vendors. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a genuine passion for bringing beautiful products to life. The assistant will help manage samples, track development milestones, communicate with vendors, and anticipate needs to keep each collection running smoothly and on schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

• Assist with organizing and maintaining seasonal development binders (fabric, lab dips, color cards)
• Communicate with team members on sample updates and/or call outs from contractors
• Help prepare for sales presentation/line review by tracking SMS samples, pulling from PR/RAMP, steaming garments as needed, and logging all incoming/outgoing samples
• Coordinate raw materials and trims as needed for domestic and overseas development

PRODUCTION

• Manage and update trim backstock (main labels, hangtags, strings, buttons, etc)
• Pull and ensure bulk trims are accurate for contractors seasonally
• Manage and update UPCs in GS1; create and place bulk UPC orders
• Assist in requesting, retrieving, and logging photo samples as needed
• Assist in creating cut tickets and passing to contractors along with sew bys and markers
• Booking bulk delivery appointments with our 3PL, cross-checking final packing lists against POs

DEVELOPMENT/PRODUCTION

• Maintain WIP updates with accurate sample status and fabric order tracking
• Assist with passing cut tickets, arrange cut ticket and fabric pick ups/drop offs, and track sample statuses/ETAs
• Track incoming and outgoing overseas shipments (samples, fabric, etc) and update records
• Ensure fit areas are organized and ready for fittings
• Develop respectful and collaborative relationships with vendors through clear communication
• Collaborate with tech design team to build weekly fit list
• Assist in tracking and organization of all seasonal samples across teams
• Receive, unpack, check in, tag, and maintain an accurate inventory of all incoming samples
• Coordinate outbound sample shipments for photoshoots, wholesale partners, and press opportunities and manage the return of samples post-market to production and HQ
• Prep products for all photoshoots, including steaming, labeling, packing, and shipping

GENERAL OFFICE

• Provide overall support where needed, including but not limited to preparing for photoshoots, sales meetings, and sample sales
• Ensure common areas are neat and organized
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments as needed
• Order LA office supplies and stock refrigerator with refreshments/snacks as needed
• Monitor front door to receive deliveries and welcome visitors (offer beverages/snacks, direct to appropriate department)
