Contract Copywriter (Mid-level) Full Time NEW

We are looking for a mid-level copywriter to support the development of copy for white papers, print materials, social media and an array of marketing communications for approximately 20 hours/week from mid-May through early July 2026. We would like you in our River North office one day per week over that time.

You will work closely with our Writer + Storyteller and Project Coordinators to:

AS A COLLABORATOR YOU WILL

• craft award submissions
• write and edit blog copy 
• optimize websites based on analytics 
• write white papers and case studies 
• develop social media content
• deliver copy in documents, artifacts and formats that make design and development easy
• review and digest strategic assets in order to understand business and organizational objectives
• work with and for amazing people and organizations
• do work that matters for people who care

WE WANT YOU TO HAVE

experience

• Up to 10 years of experience writing copy for marketing materials and digital
• extensive experience collaborating with designers
• a significant amount of experience in the B2B/corporate/strategic communications space (vs. B2C)
• a university/college degree, preferably in marketing, communications, branding or another related field

qualities and skills

• a tendency to be clever and succinct
• a clear understanding of the difference between copy writing and writing
• a clear understanding of branding and brand development
• an ability to brainstorm and think creatively on-the-fly

proof

• At least five (5) different types of examples (i.e. print, digital, etc.) that demonstrate your ability to write great copy across media
