Job Description: Executive President
Executive Summary
The Executive President is the primary architect of the firm’s strategic execution. You report directly to the CEO and are a standing member of the Executive Committee. Your mandate is to ensure the organization’s long-term viability by overseeing the heads of all major business units. You are the final authority on the “Operating Model,” responsible for ensuring that the company’s resources are allocated to maximize both current profitability and future innovation.
Core Responsibilities
Enterprise-Wide Stewardship: You own the overarching business strategy. While an EVP owns a single pillar, the Executive President ensures all pillars are integrated and pulling in the same direction.
Capital & Portfolio Management: You make high-stakes decisions on where the company “places its bets.” This includes approving massive M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) deals, global expansions, or the sunsetting of legacy divisions.
C-Suite Integration: You act as the “Chief Harmonizer” between the CFO, COO, and CMO. You ensure that financial constraints do not stifle operational growth and that marketing efforts are backed by operational capacity.
High-Level Board Representation: You represent the “State of the Union” of the company’s operations to the Board of Directors. You are often the primary backup to the CEO and the most likely internal successor.
Institutional Risk Management: You oversee the firm’s “Resilience Strategy.” You are responsible for ensuring the organization can navigate global economic shifts, regulatory crackdowns, and technological disruptions.
