Low Voltage Technician

We are looking for experienced Commercial Technicians for network installations and service and to be an integral part of the low voltage structured cabling team. A Low Voltage Technician will install and service several types of network infrastructures and systems. Work includes installation , termination and testing of Category 6 cable. All Wages will abide by prevailing wage if working in a public work job site.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all tasks required for installation of a complete structured cabling system in a new or existing construction environment.
• Must have knowledge and at least 5 years of experience with methods, equipment and materials used in installation, maintenance and repair of low voltage cable equipment

and systems

• Perform all cable pulling and installation processes including category rated cables.
• Terminate, label and test a variety of different manufactures connectivity hardware. (i.e.: jacks, patch panels, 110 blocks, 66 blocks, RG6, RG11, Splitters)
• Construction of communication closets (determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures, and balance video equipment)
• Installation of cable pathway development, raceway and attachments.
• Test, diagnose, and correct connection and system problems

Qualifications:

• Ability to fully interpret and work from

project drawings.

• Proficient with installation of Racking system, termination and dressing cable in network closets
• Understand all construction Low voltage System blue prints and symbols
• Understand and install cable pathway per current standards
• Proven knowledge and abilities of installation practices for UTP cabling
• Experience terminating connections on a wide variety of network and AV related cables using a wide array of crimp tools and stripping devices.
• Familiar with a variety of AV cabling terminations, (RGB, VGA, RCA), Security cabling techniques, (door frames, cameras), Security cabling terminations, (BNC, wire terminals).

Pay: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Network Cabling: 5 years (Preferred)

Language:

• English (Required)

License/Certification:

• California Drivers License (Preferred)

Security clearance:

• Confidential (Preferred)
