About the Role

Capital Mental Health Counseling is a thriving private practice in Albany, and we’re excited to welcome a skilled and compassionate LMHC or MHC-LP to our clinical team.

You’ll work with a diverse range of clients on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, providing thoughtful, meaningful care in a supportive outpatient setting. This role is primarily in-office, with some flexibility for telehealth when appropriate.

We offer consistent weekly clinical supervision for clinicians working toward licensure and/or diagnostic privilege — designed not just to meet requirements, but to help you grow into the clinician you want to become.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Providing individual therapy (55-minute sessions) with consistency and clinical intention
• Building meaningful treatment plans that reflect each client’s goals, strengths, and story
• Maintaining clear, timely documentation in our electronic health record system
• Collaborating (when appropriate) with prescribers, care managers, and other providers
• Managing your own schedule within a flexible, supportive private practice structure
• Upholding strong ethical standards, confidentiality, and clinical excellence
• Being part of a small, supportive team that values both independence and connection

• Licensed LMHC or MHC-LP in New York State
• Experience working with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and related clinical concerns
• Warm, relational, and naturally skilled at building trust with clients
• Confident working independently while still appreciating team support
• Organized, reliable, and grounded in strong clinical documentation practices
• Curious, reflective, and committed to ongoing clinical growth
• Couples work experience is a plus, but absolutely not required
• Able to provide 3 professional references (including a prior clinical supervisor)
