Role Description The English Generalist role at ArborVitae is a temporary, remote position focused on a variety of English language tasks to support product, marketing, and internal teams. Day-to-day work may include drafting and refining written content, clarifying and simplifying technical or product language, and ensuring consistency of tone and style across different communication channels. The English Generalist may also review copy for clarity and correctness, assist with basic content structuring or organization, and provide language support for documentation or knowledge base articles. Collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, meeting agreed timelines, and communicating clearly about project status are essential aspects of this role.
Qualifications

• Strong command of written English, with the ability to write clearly, concisely, and in a variety of tones and formats.
• Experience reviewing and refining text for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and overall readability.
• Ability to translate complex or technical concepts into accessible, user-friendly language.
• Comfort working with guidelines, style references, or templates to maintain consistency.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to handle multiple assignments in a temporary, remote setting.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with distributed teams.
• Familiarity with digital collaboration tools (such as document-sharing or project management platforms).
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
