Cross Lake Partners is an independent, privately held real estate investment firm with approximately $1 billion in assets under management. Cross Lake Partners pursues a value driven, disciplined approach to investing in the growth markets of the U.S. The Firm was established in July 2018 by Michael Barr and Jonathan Shumaker to continue the real estate platform formerly managed at Paulson & Co. Prior to the formation of Cross Lake, the managing partners together led real estate transactions with an aggregate asset value in excess of $20 billion.  

Cross Lake is currently investing out of its fourth opportunistic fund, focused primarily on residential and hospitality sectors across the Sunbelt and Mountain West markets. The new hire will play an integral role in actively deploying capital in this fund. 

Role Description

Cross Lake is looking to hire a new analyst or associate on the acquisitions team. Title will depend on relevant work experience. New hire will gain exposure to all aspects of the investment process and work on the lean acquisitions team, allowing for direct exposure to all parts of the business. Primary responsibilities will include:

• Assist in screening potential investment opportunities, including attending meetings with operating partners and traveling to evaluate new opportunities
• Prepare underwriting models and market research summaries for investment committee meetings
• Lead and coordinate due diligence on prospective acquisitions, including financial, legal and market review
• Assist in managing existing investments, including monitoring market performance, refinancings and dispositions of assets
• Prepare investor reporting and presentation materials, including fund updates and deal-level summaries

Base Salary Range: $100,000-$200,000 based on prior work experience. Total compensation also includes a discretionary annual bonus and benefits package.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• 1–3 years of work experience, preferably in Investment Banking or Private Equity
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
• Real Estate experience preferred
• Self-starter who thrives in a lean, fast-paced environment with significant individual responsibility
