To account for and organize all linens which are sent out. To wash, dry, fold and put away and in-house laundry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the general direction of the Executive Housekeeper and the direct supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, and within established departmental policies and procedures the incumbent performs the following functions:
– Wash all blankets/comforters according to manufacture instructions
– Look for stains, tears and damage to linens – process accordingly
– Fold and put away all clean linen that comes from People’s Linen
– Store clean linens in the appropriate areas in linen closets (floors 2-6) and laundry room on basement level
– Remove all dirty linens from linen closets (floors 2-6) daily
– Remove trash from linen closets daily
– Deliver clean linens to housekeepers when requested
– Ensure that enough linen is available to start the next day’s housekeeping shift
– Ensure that laundry and linen rooms are stocked with necessary supplies
– Maintain cleanliness of laundry room
– Assist in deep cleaning of rooms when necessary and requested
– Deliver items to guest rooms at the request of Front Desk, housekeeping supervisor or Executive Housekeeper
– Represent RiverWalk resort at all times by behaving in a professional manner
– Arrive to work on time and in issued uniform and nametag
– Assist coworkers when needed
Secondary Functions
– Responsible for complying with all established RiverWalk Resort and all departmental policies and procedures.
– Ensures confidentiality of all RiverWalk matters. Maintains good communications; establishes and maintains positive working relationships with employees and the public.
– Performs similar or related duties as requested by GM (for example: unexpected clean up in a specific area).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Individuals must possess these knowledge skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the primary functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities and to possess the necessary physical requirements without the aid of mechanical devices to safely perform the primary functions of the job.
1. Physical requirements include ability to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist; bend the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine; extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction; stand for sustained periods of time; move about on foot to accomplish tasks; use arms to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward; use upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects; raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position to position.
2. The ability to professionally communicate or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
3. The ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (i.e. in a normal office setting)
4. The ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
WORK SCHEDULE: Generally 5 days per week. Schedule will vary due to occupancy levels and needs of the resort
Occasional overtime for shift coverage. May be required to work additional shifts or holidays as warranted by emergencies or resort staffing needs.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous housekeeping and/or laundry experience preferred
Pay: From $17.50 per hour
